Accounts Payable Clerk

Your new company
An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen, Hays has partnered with an independent services business in the Tetbury area to recruit for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join the Finance team. For this role you will be liaising with and reporting into the Finance Director.

This role is Monday to Friday with full-time working hours, from 8:30am to 5pm, including a hour lunch break.

Your new role

• As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be required to support with various duties and responsibilities, for example;
• Setting up supplier accounts, whilst maintaining the shared mailbox
• Processing invoices accurately, whilst collaborating with internal departments and ensuring the invoices are coded, with authorisation obtained
• To process and post bank payments
• You will maintain and take charge of the direct debit and hire purchase schedules
• Ensure data is cleansed and carry out data entry tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
• Carry out bank reconciliations
• As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will also deal with any vendor enquiries, whilst resolving any potential issues or discrepancies

What you'll need to succeed

• To have at least 12 months of experience in an Accounts Payable role
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Sage 200 or similar Accounting software
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Knowledge of Zahara (Purchase Order System) would be advantageous, but is not essential
• Strong communication skills
• Self-sufficiency, as well as being a team player
• To have exposure and knowledge of accounting
