Due to expansion of the school we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Achievement Support Assistant to join the team at our Boulevard and Sullivan setting.Boulevard Centre – this is an alternative provision for secondary pupils who are unable to access mainstream education.
Sullivan Centre – this includes providing education for primary and secondary pupils who need support for their complex mental or physical needs.The Sullivan centre is seeking to appoint a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (Medical). The role will provide learning activities to a pupil with complex medical needs under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher. The role will also include supporting the pupil with their medical needs with care and dignity at all times and communicating effectively with parents and carers.This person will be appointed to:
Support the academic, social, emotional and development of individuals and groups of pupils, understanding clearly how pupils learn
Provide effective support to maximise attainment and accelerate pupil progressAssess the medical needs of the pupil with an Educational Health Care Plan and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills from nurses to support the pupil's learning.Deliver learning activities adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs.To provide medical support to the pupil where necessary with dignity at all times.Aid the pupil to learn as effectively as possible and to reach their full potential in whole class, group or individual situations.Ensuring the pupil is able to use equipment and materials provided.
Motivating and encouraging pupils.
Promoting positive behaviour, raising esteem and encouraging an aspirational culture. Working with the pupil to foster their development as an independent learnerFurther duties to be tailored to need, relating to applicant skill set and direction from Executive Head You will have experience of supporting pupils with SEN and be committed to working with others to maximise the educational and social opportunities available for children and young people who often are the most vulnerable.Start date would be ASAP.Visits to the school are welcome; please contact Claire Goodaire, Executive Head to make the arrangements on 01482-585203.
