The post holder will work directly with patients withcomplex needs, providing engagement opportunities to maximisewellbeing and support recovery.
Your responsibilitieswill include:- To lead on delivering ahigh-quality activity provision for the patients of MiddlewoodClinic, including evenings hours and at weekends, using a varietyof meaningful activities both in groups and with individualpatients.
- Engage with young adults within an eating disorderservice, providing an activity programme, which is appropriate tothe needs of patients in the service.
- Provide direct support to the nursing staffand the multidisciplinary team, in the context of meaningfulactivity work on the ward.
- Work as part of a team, focusing on thedirect needs of patients, working across boundaries of care andorganisations to promote social inclusion and promote activeparticipation in an individualised recovery plan, using the agreedset of values and skills to underpin their day-to-daywork.
- Initiate opportunities for engagement of patients on theward and their carers (family and friends).
- Work in close collaboration with themulti-disciplinary team to provide a positive experience for thepatients and their carers.
To be a Successful Activity Coordinator you willneed:
- Experience that can demonstrate skillsacquired in a care setting.
- Knowledge of a range of leisure/creativetechnical activities.
- Recent or current experience of working in a mentalhealth setting.
- Experience of training others in a task or skillInvolvement in group based interventions History of positive workrecord.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good literacy and ITskills.
- Ability to engage in therapeutic relationships withpeople.
- Understand the competency boundaries of the Activitiescoordinator role.
- Practical knowledge of a range of leisure, educational,vocational, and technical activities, and ability share these withothers.
