Role Summary
The Physical Identify Access Management (PIAM) key function is to control authorised access to the site. The PIAM team is a critical part of the Security framework to defend our assets, employees and customers from physical intrusion, cyber-attacks and insider threats. We are an integral part of risk management strategy.
The PIAM team automates physical access management tasks, removing human error and enabling attribute-based physical access controls to be put in place. This ensures that people only have the physical access they need to do their job, which improves safety and security outcomes. Additionally, it delivers a full audit trail of physical access management processes so that we can demonstrate compliance to our auditors.
The PIAM team sits within the wider Networks and Security team. We are a small team, dedicated to delivering innovative secured solutions to our customers.
Key accountabilities of the role
- The PIAM role is responsible for controlling authorised access to the Estate to support the reduction of security threats by undertaking the key responsibilities outlined this JD.
- Taking ownership of problems and enquiries on PIAM activities through all communication streams to meet SLAs and enable access to the Estate in line with company policy.
- To provide cover during office hours as directed by the PIAM Manager, this will include rota during daytime working hours.
- Processing orders received for cards, keys, and other access/authentication tokens, in accordance with local processes to meet SLA's.
- Responsible for managing the on/off boarding process for CPs and 3rd parties in accordance with the company's policy and compliance regulations.
- Providing regular access/asset reporting and management information for the services provided by the PIAM team and supporting the provision of building utilisation data.
- Maintain building access configuration and the zone approval process working with Physical Security Advisors and other stakeholders in line with company Security Policies.
- Responsible for reporting & escalating faults affecting any of the PIAM systems. To identify access control issues promptly and support to solutions to prevent their occurrence.
- Consistently working to help identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the PIAM and wider Security operation to enhance our systems, processes, or practices to reduce physical security and insider threats.
- Ensure our data is accurate and up-to-date and data retention requirements are met.
- Provide support for PIAM applications their development, testing and deployment.
- To undertake training of PIAM systems, processes, and practices as instructed by the PIAM Manager.
- To ensure your security behaviours are upheld, meet, and championed as outlined by the company's policy to support our external accreditations such as ISO27001 and 23001 etc.
- Ensure mandatory training is kept up to date in accordance with company policy and have awareness of any relevant security changes within the business or industry for example 27001, 23001, TSA etc.
- Support the use and development of PIAM methodologies, processes and procedures, document ideas for improvements, assist knowledge capture and provide feedback where appropriate.
- Support Quality Management principles in accordance with company policy & ISO 9001.
- Carry out routine stock control checks, replenish stock when required and escalate any stock related concerns to the PIAM Manager.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by your Line Manager.
