About the role
The primary purpose of this role is to provide a high level of administration support and customer service.
Some of the key responsibilities of the role are:
- Promote good public relations with the general community and both internal and external customers of the Rural Hospital by responding to general enquiries over the phone, e-mail and in person.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of office records, patient travel subsidy application processing, medico-legal requests and data reporting as requested.
- Provide administrative support for nominated meetings including agenda preparation, minute taking and venue booking for local meetings
- Maintain compliance of financial services including accounts payable, S4Hana, receivable and material management functions to ensure facility funds are managed in accordance with legislation and departmental guidelines.
- Comply with Queensland Health guidelines regarding management of trust accounts and the reconciliations of compensation, petty cash, banking and end of month reporting.
- Medical records management (including Admissions, Discharges and Transfers, data integrity, culling in line with State Archive policy,
- Utilise systems including but not limited to HBCIS, office 365 for appointment scheduling, waitlist management, chart tracking and debtor management,
- Actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace that values the health and safety of co-workers, clients and visitors.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated high-level problem-solving skills, and time management, with the ability to prioritise tasks and deal with multiple demands.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills - Clear and effective communication using oral, written and electronic methods.
- Technical capability - Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant policies and procedures affecting the position within the Health Service District including Financial Management Practice, Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme, cashier, receipting, banking processes and daily balancing.
- Ability to work individually and in a team environment as part of a multidisciplinary team
- High level knowledge of and ability to utilise information management and technology skills
