The governors of the Federation of Mount Pleasant Junior School and Maytree Nursery Infants School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our amazing team in the heart of Southampton.
- Hours: 37 per week
- Monday to Thursday: 08:30 to 16:30
- Friday: 08:30 to 16:00
- Job Start Date: the position is available now
- Salary: SCC Grade 6, point 12 to 17.
- The actual gross annual salary paid for this role starts at £22,873.51 and moves up to £25,505.71, dependant on experience.
Working at both schools, across the Federation of Mount Pleasant Junior School and Maytree Nursery Infants School the successful candidate would have these key accountabilities:
To undertake a variety of administrative and clerical procedures to support the efficient running of the school office, which will include:
- To draft and type a variety of correspondence, reports, minutes and other documents as required
- To answer the telephone, receive visitors to the school and deal with routine enquiries
- To provide a PA/support service to the Head Teacher, which may include organising his/her diary, arranging meetings and taking minutes
- To maintain office systems and records, including confidential items
- To use computer systems (e.g. SIMS, TUCASI) to input details, manage data, run reports and make returns as required
- To administer the school meals system and take payments for school meals, trips and events
- To liaise with other school staff and outside agencies/organisations, in respect of a varied range of issues, as appropriate
- To assist with the design, preparation and production of documents including the school prospectus and parent newsletters
- To provide welfare support to the pupils of the school. This may include undertaking minor first aid duties, assisting children with personal hygiene and notifying parents when children are ill
- To provide curriculum support to the teaching staff, including photocopying and preparation of materials
- To undertake personnel and financial administration as required, or to support of other members of the team in carrying out these functions
- To carry out any other administrative procedure, within the responsibility level of the post, as directed by the Executive Head Teacher, Office Manager or Business Manager.
