SalaryElmbridge Mencap is a small charity whose aim is to enrich the lives of people with learning disabilities in the local area by providing services at our purpose-built facility, called Burview Hall, situated in Walton on Thames, Surrey KT12 5AB. The services include a busy Day Service, sensory rooms and garden for hire and social clubs.
Due to our increasing popularity, we are now seeking an additional post of PART TIMEAdministrative Assistant. You'll be talking to potential hirers about the services, making room bookings, preparing monthly despatch of invoices, recording payments and arranging contractors' visits. You'll also provide administrative support to our Day Service staff as required.
We are a small friendly supportive group who really want to make a difference - if this is something you'd enjoy then we'd love to hear from you.
You'll need to demonstrate:
- previous administrative experience in a customer facing role
- excellent communication skills and competency in Outlook and basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Numerical skills of a level to maintain accurate records of payments received and expenditure.
- Ability to work in a team and manage own workload effectively.
- Understanding of data protection and the need to keep information confidential.
It's really important that you're a people person who takes a genuine interest in all our clients. You'll also need to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of those with learning disabilities and additional needs.

Hours of work: 8 hours a week, to be worked 4 hours on Mondays and 4 hours either Wednesday or Friday. Preferably mornings. Remote working is not an option. Free car parking at site.
