Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit an Administrative Officer for a 3 month contract on a rate of £12.72 PAYE. Responsibilities:- Provide administrative support through the Research office and through key liaisons to all aspects of the PGR business of the organisation - Deal with correspondence to and from the Research office in a proactive and efficient manner; - Undertake general administration of the Research office; - Maintain up-to-date records for customers, and liaise with necessary departments to ensure that data remains accurate in relevant institutional systems. - Update customer information on the electronic customer record system and generate reports. - Produce agendas and minutes, as required, for meetings convened by members of the Research team, including the Research Degrees Committee and stakeholder consultative committee; - Support financial administration, such payment of visiting staff and organising their travel and accommodation. - Update public and internal information via the website, intranet and/or Canvas virtual learning environment as appropriate; - Undertake any other duties as senior departmental staff deem appropriate; - Take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and of others who may be affected by your actions at work; - Undertake suitable training as appropriate, including relating to health and safety at work. Essential Skills:- Educated to Higher level (or equivalent) or have substantial relevant experience within a similar post; - Experience of providing personal administrative support to colleagues; - Strong and demonstrable IT skills and confident in the use of spreadsheets and other standard software for office work; - A self starter with excellent administrative and organisational skills; - The ability to communicate effectively and to a high standard in writing as well as verbally; - Capable of operating with a minimum of supervision in assessing and responding to non-routine work/situations; - Ability to work on own initiative as well as an integral part of the team; - Ability to pay close attention to detail and produce work to a consistently high standard.
