The starting salary for this role is £27,897 per annum, working 36 hours per week.
We are excited to be hiring two new Social Care Assistants to join our fantastic Learning Disability and Autism team. The team is based in Leatherhead however, you will only be expected to be in the office twice a week following your induction.

About the Team
The Learning Disability and Autism East team are a newly developed team within Surrey County Council, supporting individuals with a diagnosis of Learning and/or Autism. We have the pleasure of working with an incredibly diverse group of individuals to support them to reach their full potential by increasing their skills and independence through a range of services including Reablement, our Pilot Travel Training programme, Direct Payments and through Skills Gain work. We work closely with many other services within SCC such as Commissioning, Brokerage and our Finance Team, as well as external agencies to ensure the individuals we support are able to reach their goals. The Learning Disability and Autism Team provide an environment for practitioners to grow as professionals and encourage development within the team to reach your own professional goals.
About the Role
As a Social Care Assistant at Surrey, we will put you in the best possible position to assess the Social Care needs of our service users, providing direct positive intervention to some of our more complex service users and support for their carers, this will include completing assessments and reviews to ensure those interventions are strength-based and person-centred.
You will be expected to complete safeguarding work as well as providing support for our Duty team.
You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure our Service Users and their families receive the best possible outcomes.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:
- Working knowledge of Care Act legislation.
- Experience in preparation of support plans, assessments, and monitoring and reviewing outcomes.
- Your experiences dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to your own professional development.
