Job description

We are looking for a Adventure Experience Coordinator to join our Adventurous Scout Adventure team based in Youlbury.

Location: Scout Adventures, Youlbury, Boars Hill, Oxford, OX1 5HD (Please note, this is a live in role) 

Salary:  £24,937 per annum, Band C, level 3

Term: 13 month Fixed term contract (Maternity cover)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week –required to do some weekends where required

About the Adventure Experience Coordinator Role: 

This is a very exciting time to join our Youlbury team as we have had some exciting transformations across the site, including a new reception, shop, and catering facility which we are all excited to get in action. As we embark on the next chapter, our focus is on seamlessly ensuring that everyone enjoys a smooth and uninterrupted customer journey.

The Adventure Experience Coordinator (Maternity Cover) will primarily be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our adventures and will be responsible for checking and creating adventure programmes for groups, being the key point of contact with our customer bookings team and completing scheduling for all staff and volunteers. 

What we are looking for in our Adventure Experience Coordinator:

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills 
  • Good computer literacy, with an ability to confidently learn and use tools such as bookings systems, customer support software, Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, Smartsheets etc.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan your own workload
  • Able to problem solve and handle complaints
  • Ability to build personable and effective relationships with customers, staff and all volunteers
  • A methodical approach to work and the ability to coordinate multiple customers and suppliers
     

Key responsibilities as our Adventure Experience Coordinator :

  • Provide helpful, supportive and friendly services across a variety of channels. Work within our service level agreements, objectives and policies, and use our tone of voice and brand to make a great impression of Scout Adventures. 
  • Process new enquries by matching customers to our products and securing their booking
  • Carry out basic financial tasks related to bookings, including taking payments and raising invoices.
  • Maintain accurate records of our customers and bookings and maintain strict confidentiality and data protection standards. 
  • Assisting with the management of contractors, volunteers and other staff, providing line management for a team of volunteers.
  • Delivering relevant training to the internal team in areas of specialty.
  • Design activity programmes for groups based on their needs and objectives
