Agricultural Operative

Job Summary
We are looking for a seasonal farm worker to support the team at our salad farm in Colchester, Essex. The role is to work as part of our busy planting team, growing crop both under cover in polytunnels and in outdoor fields. Previous work on a crop farm would be advantageous. This is a temporary contract for 6 months, starting from 12th February 2024. Chargeable live in accommodation on our farm in Frating, Essex is available.
Salary: £10.50 per hour rising to £11.50 per hour from 01 April 2024.
Main Responsibilities
To carry out the planting and / or harvest of crops as directed by your supervisor and any associated jobs up to that point.
To adhere to company H&S policies and procedures at all times including food safety.
To maintain the quality of the crops you're planting / harvesting and help to reduce weeds and foreign bodies.

Agrial Fresh Farms (AFF) is one of several UK sites owned by the French co-operative agricultural and agri-food group, Agrial. The business is more recognisable in the UK by its Florette salad brand and we are now one of the UK’s leading producers in the industry.
Our Integrated farming operation, AFF is based in Colchester, Essex with over 100 hectares of land and 28 hectares polytunnels. We provide baby leaf year-round to the UK, grown in polytunnels, and whole head and outdoor crops throughout the summer. The produce is supplied into our UK sites in Lichfield & Wigan for processing and distribution.
The Agrial group has operations across 18 regions with 280 farming outlets. It's not just about lettuce; with Beverage, Dairy, Meat, Agricultural and Fresh Produce divisions. All of our UK sites operate under the name of Agrial Fresh Produce Limited and fall under Agrial's vegetable division.
