Agricultural Machine/ Seed Operator
Based near Sherborne our client is a small but dynamic team who actively support and encourage their employees to take ownership of their area of the business.
This isn't your typical Monday to Friday role, so a keen interest in the outdoors and all things agricultural really is a must. The role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of mobile seed processing plants across farms in the Southwest. Ideally, they will be experienced in driving large vehicles and also have some workshop experience, including engine maintenance and fabrication, though this is not essential and training will be given
This role is based outside all year round, applicants must be aware and happy with this. There is the opportunity for career progression within this role, we envisage that to begin with, the successful candidate will work as part of a small team whilst building on their leadership skills and eventually manage a small team of their own.
Hours
Winter Standard Hours (Late October - Early July) - 7.30am - 4.30pm
Summer Standard Hours (Early July - Late October) - 7.30am - 5.30pm
During busy seed processing periods the working day will begin at 7am and run through to when the days contracts have been fulfilled. In the summer this would typically be between 6-9pm.
As standard we work 5 days a week but would expect you to be available for Saturdays in August and September. All overtime is paid at an enhanced rate.
