In a nutshell
In this exciting role as Alliances and Partnerships Manager, you'll develop, implement, and communicate Virgin Atlantic's alliances & partnerships strategy, congruent with our network strategy.
You will manage offline market modelling, strategy & analysis, providing recommendations driven by mid-long term macro-economics Alongside this, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and developing airline partnerships, which improve Virgin Atlantic's network reach and produce incremental revenue through cross-company & external project management.
Whilst overseeing cross-company compliance and governance of global regulatory policies and procedures for code-shares
Day to day
- Own a portfolio of airline partnerships and set targets to ensure VAA achieves its fair market share, or higher, for each traffic flow and build action plans to ensure revenue targets can be delivered
- Maximise revenue (PER) improvement from portfolio of partners by overseeing and co-ordinating joint and VAA-internal actions to ensure important metrics are delivered; regularly monitor & report PER Negotiate codeshare & interline financial settlement agreements (SPAs & SRAs), including codeshare commissions and Interline Service Charge (ISC)
- Negotiate and implement new codeshare partnerships and drive the performance of existing partnerships to maximise revenue enabled by airline partners.
- Own a portfolio of airline partners, leading the relationships internally and externally through regular communication, including review meetings.
- Project Manage internal partners to lead the implementation of partnership development plans on time and on budget.
- Key business partner in the success of Blueskies Joint Venture and SkyTeam Global Alliance Implement and maintain the operational and customer-related performance of codeshare partnerships.
- Expand Alliance partnerships to align with Customer and Operational airline partner contracts, including Cargo, Virgin Atlantic Holidays, Ground Handling, Clubhouses, Loyalty, & Staff Travel Agreements
- Regular monitoring of changes to Regulations, Laws, Safety and Security to ensure our Codeshare Agreements remain compliant
- Continuous monitoring of airline partners' financial status to react efficiently should there become a risk of financial implications
- Awareness of partner airlines' NPS, OTP & news articles to ensure VAA brand is protected Lead specialist ad-hoc commercial partnership projects, and assist in developing, motivating, and mentoring the team to improve engagement and revenue performance

Alongside the above, we're looking for the following:
- A commercial airline background with experience working with Global Alliances, Joint Ventures, Codeshare partnerships and Interline agreements
- Understanding of airline commercial dynamics, including commercial strategy, revenue management, sales, regulatory and industry affairs, and revenue accounting
- Visible learning proficiency, motivation, and outstanding organisation skills
- High level of autonomy and good business judgement
