AML Manager

An international law firm is actively seeking an AML Manager to join their London office. This leadership role within the firm's Business Intake team will be reporting to the General Counsel and work closely with the MLCO. The AML Manager will be responsible for supporting and upholding the firm's commitment to preventing money laundering and other risks created by the proceeds of crime. This pivotal role operates within the AML Committee, and is designed to improve both internal and external client service experiences while fostering innovation and change.

Job Responsibilities:

• Leading and overseeing the execution of AML Policy-related client/matter due diligence controls and procedures, including new client/matter approvals and ongoing monitoring.
• Ensuring timely stakeholder communications, approvals, and monitoring activities for client/matter approvals.
• Participating in the periodic review and revision of AML controls and procedures, developing and providing AML Policy-related training, and raising internal awareness of AML compliance obligations.
• Ensuring adherence to best practices in AML and business intake, conducting internal audits, and preparing responses for external auditors.
• Serving as an adjunct to the AML Committee, managing agendas, meeting minutes, compliance calendars, and related communications.
• Ensuring completeness of client/matter due diligence packages, and conducting or overseeing supplementary research.

Key Attributes required:

• Degree level education.
• A recognised AML and/or compliance certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience managing a compliance process, issue, or team, with at least 3 years in a UK-based role, focused on business intake and client due diligence in a law firm.
