AML Compliance Manager
Job Purpose
You will be part of the management team in the UK, he or she will primarily be responsible for building AML framework and overseeing the KYC and AML processes within the organization to ensure adherence and compliance with the local UK regulations for the services subject to the AML Regulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve the AML framework, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with the AML regulations.
- Regularly evaluate and assess the current AML processes and provide recommendations to the Board to ensure 100% adherence and compliance to the UK AML regulations.
- Manage the relationship and serve as the contact point to the HMRC and other relevant groups and regulators on behalf of IWG.
- Attends to major and critical regulatory issues and concerns affecting the company’s operations and makes necessary recommendations to resolve concerns/issues affecting the Company.
- Briefing and reporting to senior management on matters relating to internal AML compliance, regulation and legislation changes that would impact the business and operations.
- Manage and oversee AML training programs for stakeholders and business units.
- Handle file reviews of escalated and complex KYC cases and suspicious activity to ensure compliance with the policies and procedures set.
- Manage the UK Compliance Unit which acts as the first line of KYC reviewers and investigators of suspicious activities.
- Create and manage effective action plan in response to audit and compliance violations.
- Establish a strategy for the sharing of Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime and Fraud risks related compliance knowledge and best practice across and the wider Compliance Function and Group.
- Develop and maintain a positive and professional working relationships with senior business managers and Compliance Group and those in other Regions and Businesses.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Must be situated in the United Kingdom.
- Significant leadership experience and an experienced strategic thinker.
- A legal or formal accountancy qualification or professional background in a relevant risk or audit discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience on AML and Financial Crime investigation.
- Holding AML certifications such as CAMS is an advantage but not required.
- Extensive knowledge of the UK Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing regulations.
- Able to interpret rules and regulations and able to provide sound advice to business units.
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management and external regulatory agencies.
- Effectively manage direct reports to ensure they our meeting their goal and work objectives.
