Join a prestigious Glasgow Law Firm as an AML Officer, where you will play a critical role in maintaining the firm’s compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who: understands AML compliance, can conduct thorough KYC/CDD reviews, serve as the first point of contact for AML-related enquiries, and keep the firm abreast of AML regulation updates.
Day to day duties of the role:
- Process new client and new matter workflows with precision and attention to detail.
- Review KYC/CDD information and Matter Risk Assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Utilise the Amiqus digital tool for AML checks, including setting up requests and reviewing responses.
- Identify and verify the source of funds for transactions.
- Update client banking and payment details using the LawWare case management system.
- Check PEP/Sanction screening matches and maintain the PEP register.
- Attend monthly partners meetings to provide updates on AML compliance and law.
- Serve as the first point of contact within the firm for any AML-related enquiries.
- Identify any outstanding client documentation and ensure its prompt collection.
- Provide necessary documentation to in-house trust companies or Partners as required.
- Authorise payments and manage credit balances, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in carrying out AML/financial compliance duties, preferably within the legal or financial sector.
- Familiarity with AML regulations and an ability to stay abreast of changes in compliance laws.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for AML checks, such as Amiqus, and case management systems like LawWare.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
