Role description:

Our Apprenticeship programme offers you an exciting opportunity to jump straight into the professional world and earn a living whilst also studying for professional qualifications. As an Apprentice you will play an active part in driving your career development and will be exposed to a variety of projects across the business. Technical experience is key in our sector, which is why we will provide you with a clear framework to work towards chartership. You’ll be part of a supportive Early Careers community and will work alongside skilled professionals. You’ll benefit from structured on-the-job training, mentoring, plus funding and support for accreditations relevant to your programme, as well as the assistance you need to develop and succeed.

Role accountabilities:

Our Cost Consultants work across all our sectors supporting cost, commercial and transformational consultancy projects. At its core, Cost Consultancy involves advising on and managing the cost of construction and property projects, supporting from the beginning of a project lifecycle to influence and drive decision making. You will help support clients with cost estimation, project planning, procurement and cost management; your role will be key in providing advice on project finances and contractual relationships. You will monitor budgets and costs throughout the project lifecycle, keeping the client and project team informed.

On this apprenticeship you will complete, the following standard on a day release basis.

  • For England; BSc Chartered Surveyor Degree through our agreed training provider UCEM.
  • For Scotland; BSc Graduate Apprenticeship Construction and Built Environment (Quantity Surveying) through our agreed training provider Glasgow Caledonian University.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Be a UK/EU/EAA resident for at least three years prior to starting the course and have the right to work in the UK.
  • 18 years old and have left full time education when the apprenticeship starts.
  • For England: Have gained a minimum of 4 GCSE qualifications, grade 4-9 Including Maths and English and 3 A-Level, or equivalent qualifications at grade A to C.
  • For Scotland: Have gained a minimum of 4 National Level 5 qualifications, grade 4-9 Including Maths and English and at least 2 Highers, or equivalent qualifications at grade B minimum, ideally including English and Mathematics.
  • You will demonstrate typical Arcadian skills including Resilience, Creativity, Analytical Thinking and being a Team Player.
  • You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to use your technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
  • Willing to travel and stay away from home when required (where possible we embrace virtual working).
