We’re the UK's largest ports operator with a network of 21 ports around Britain. We handle around one quarter of the UK's seaborne trade and contribute £7.5 billion to our economy every year.

It’s a story we’re proud of but it doesn’t end there. We’re transforming our business and embracing the future.

What’s it all about?

ABP’s Multi-Skilled Engineering Apprenticeship will focus on the core principles of electrical and mechanical maintenance, teaching essential fundamental skills that will be transferable regardless of the engineering sector. This apprenticeship programme is designed for individuals who enjoy discovering how things work, and who can combine a theoretical and hands-on approach to reactive and preventative electrical maintenance.

As an apprentice, you will be responsible for the quality of your own work and possibly others’, ensuring tasks are completed safely, meets stakeholder quality, time and budget requirements, whilst maintaining the efficient running of plant and equipment.

This will be an accredited apprenticeship that will be awarded by a recognised awarding body.

How long does it take?

This apprenticeship will take up to 4 years, depending on your performance during the programme. Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking their end-point assessment.
