Vestas, a global leader in wind energy, is excited to offer an opportunity for 10 proactive individuals to join our team as Offshore Apprentice Wind Turbine Service Technicians. This role is a blend of academic study and hands-on experience, designed for those passionate about technology and eager to make a tangible impact in the field of electrical engineering and sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • The apprenticeship starts with two years of academic study at Aberdeen College, Altens Campus, where you will pursue an HND in Electrical Engineering
  • This period combines classroom learning with practical workshops, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Following your studies, you will spend two years gaining hands-on experience at our offshore wind farms
  • You will work on a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation, either stationed on an offshore vessel (SOV) in the North Sea or commuting from an onshore site via a Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV)

Qualifications

  • Qualifications: A Scottish Higher in Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering Science, with grades of B or above preferred
  • Passport Holder
  • Driving Licence is an advantage

  • Self-motivation, reliability, flexibility, and strong teamwork capabilities

What we offer


A fully funded HND in Electrical Engineering, an SCQF Level 6 MA through Aberdeen College, Altens Campus with fully funded student accommodation.
Advanced offshore safety training.· Two years of practical offshore work experience with extensive learning opportunities.

Upon completion, apprentices are well-positioned to apply for an Offshore Service Technician role within Vestas, opening doors to a promising career in the renewable energy sector.
