We are recruiting two Apprentice Technicians to join our busy Inverness Servicing department. The successful candidates will assist in the service, repair and/or testing in of equipment while having the opportunity to gain a vocational qualification. Apprentices will be supported and mentored by qualified technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a 4 year Light Motor Vehicle Mechanics Apprenticeship including block release training in conjunction with workplace assessment.
- Learn all aspects of the service, repair and testing on equipment such as Generators, Diesel Compressors, Hot & Cold Pressure Washers and Heaters.
- As part of a wider team, ensure that components are available so that jobs can proceed as directed.
- Learn and understand how to complete equipment pre-delivery inspections.
- Maintain tools, plant and equipment in a clean and workable condition.
- Ensure the general security of tools, plant and equipment and of workshop areas.
- Set up and operate equipment following manufacturers’ guidelines and/or procedures.
- Carry out precision measuring/testing of equipment following clear set procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of works undertaken including job tickets and timesheets and other required paperwork.
- Undertake other tasks as required.
Skills and Experience
- Ability to take instructions and work under supervision.
- Ability to work within and contribute to a team.
- Have a basic understanding of the technician job role.
- Aptitude to learn new skills and fully apply them to the role.
- Ability to respond positively to new challenges and change.
