The Role
As the Apprenticeship Work Based Learning Tutor Manager at York St John University, you will oversee the delivery of Apprenticeship Work-Based Learning programmes. Responsible for guiding a dedicated team of Work Based Learning Tutors (WBLTs), this role entails providing meticulous line management, mentorship, and development to ensure consistently high-performance outcomes.
Operating at the intersection of strategic discussions, policy development, and operational processes, the Apprenticeship Work Based Learning Tutor Manager actively engages in forums such as the Degree Apprenticeship Operational Steering Group. This involvement positions the manager as a key conduit between WBLTs, Employer-mentors, apprentice line managers, and internal university teams. This dynamic role safeguards apprentices' achievements and fosters a comprehensive understanding of programme delivery arrangements.
Required Skills and Experience
As the Apprenticeship Work Based Learning Tutor Manager, you will lead the team to deliver outstanding apprenticeship programmes. This role involves guiding WBLTs, participating in strategic discussions, and ensuring effective program delivery. You will be key in supporting learners, working with data, and building positive relationships with external stakeholders. This leadership position requires skills in mentoring, strategic thinking, and collaboration.
Your leadership will extend to collaborating with external stakeholders, including employer clients and end-point-assessment organisations, contributing significantly to maintaining and enhancing the university's reputation.
We seek a candidate with clear leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a history of successful collaboration. The ideal candidate will thrive in a complex environment and possess management experience and a solid understanding of apprenticeship program dynamics.
