Chambers seeks to appoint a highly suitable, dynamic individual to the position of Arbitrators’ Practice Manager, a role that heads-up and offers significant support to its first-class, Arbitration team.
Practice Management
- Efficient verbal and written client communication regarding new arbitration, mediation and expert appointment enquiries
- Prepare Terms of Appointment; negotiating rates and terms with solicitors; collecting fees on appointment
- Set up new files on LEX system and hard copy file; keep record of new appointments; conflict checking
- Efficient diary management; co-ordinating hearing dates with solicitors and barristers’ clerks
- Liaising with registrars of arbitration bodies and courts regarding listing matters and co-ordinating hearing dates
- Organising preparation of court judgments with WP and proof-reading Expert Reports, Judgments and Awards
- Booking and co-ordinating travel arrangements/business visas etc. for Arbitrators
- Attending regular Team Leader meetings providing brief of new arbitrations and arbitrators’ workload generally. Providing annual arbitration statistics
- Assist and co-ordinate Final Moot at the High Court liaising with HC officers arranging accommodation for the Moot Judges
Finance
- Opening and administering arbitration deposit accounts; arranging payment of Tribunal’s fees and maintaining balance sheet
- Administering arbitrators’ fee notes and projection of fees; liaising with accounts regarding fees; acting as link between arbitrators and accounts
- Administering circulation of procedural orders and publishing Awards and collection of Tribunal’s fees
Professional Development and Marketing
- Promote Arbitrators with clients and arbitration bodies
- Keep updated with changes to arbitration rules and procedures; attending conferences, seminars and networking receptions when required
- Organise itineraries for visiting foreign judges and dignitaries
- Liaising with conference organisers and arbitration bodies
- Managing Arbitrators’ directory submissions process Maintaining the website Updating Arbitrators’ CVs and profiles
