We are recruiting an Area Sales Manager to work for a very exciting company whose Head Office is based in Halesowen, to cover the Southeast - areas to include, North London, Buckinghamshire, Huntington, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. You ideally need to be located within an hour from these locations.
The main duties will be:
- To support the Sales Manager, North on all activities for your area;
- To ensure all reports on all competitive activity/information is reported to the Sales Manager.
- To maintain accurate company records for all outlets.
- Working with existing companies and networking within their customers
- Ensuring you are out in the field on a weekly basis visiting your customers and maintaining existing relationships and developing new business
- Developing long term existing relationships.
- Make full use of product samples, literature, and other sales promotional aids.
- To deal promptly with all customer queries, complaints and communicate clearly with the company of action taken or required.
- To achieve all targets set by the Sales Manager.
- To ensure the company has an active presence in all major accounts. Recommendation to management any method of sales promotional activity.
The successful candidate will have the following skills:
- Applicants must be highly driven, focussed and be able to demonstrate a commitment to the on-going success of the company.
- Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment
- Ideally someone from a construction, building, tiling, flooring background would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Sound verbal and written communication skills;
- Organisation and time management skills;
- Negotiation, listening and problem-solving skills;
- Minimum 5 GCSE's grade C or equivalent to include English and Maths;
- Full, clean, current and valid driving licence;
- A full working knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of CRM system (training will be provided)
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, hardworking, reliable and have a positive attitude. Out of office hours may be required and therefore overnight stays may be necessary.
Salary will be negotiable based on experience, knowledge and ability. Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week, 0830-1700 Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch. There is also a bonus for this position which is attractive and paid weekly.
