AREA MANAGER
Reports to: Sales Director
Job Purpose: Achieve Area Sales targets aligned with company objectives, maximize sales, and ensure exceptional customer relations through effective management of the Area Sales personnel.
Nature and Scope of Position:
Provide the Sales Director with comprehensive insights into the commercial landscape, application, and competitiveness of our client's products and services through monthly reports. Responsible for ensuring the understanding and acceptance of pricing policies and other procedures by sales personnel and customers. Work closely with the line manager to determine applicable discounts and maintain close personal contact with key customers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Accomplish personal and Area Sales targets; assist direct reports in achieving revenue targets.
- Provide stimulating leadership to Area staff, fostering an atmosphere conducive to accomplishing sales and service objectives through coaching, guiding, and motivating the team.
- Continually review staff performance against sales, service, and compliance targets; guide, direct, and assist the team in identifying remedial actions.
- Ensure all activities in the area align with the company sales plan and objectives.
- Maintain and update relevant "Customer Information Management" systems.
- Ensure direct reports maintain customer records in line with company policy.
- Review and suggest improvements to existing company procedures for maximizing the efficiency of the Area sales and service function.
- Ensure prudent and effective expenditure use to secure long-term business opportunities.
- Train and develop direct reports to their optimum potential; inform the line manager of sales activities, problems, and prospects in the region.
- Liaise with Support Services Department to ensure contractual tasks are met on time and in full.
- Conduct appraisals of direct reports in line with company policy.
- Keep up to date on market developments and inform colleagues accordingly.
- Attend necessary courses, seminars, and training sessions.
- Hold regular sales meetings for staff awareness of company requirements and progress updates, using them as training opportunities.
- Update Training and Competence records for all consultants within the area and review them quarterly.
