About the job
Job summary
The post supports the Head of Establishment (HoE) in providing a working environment that is safe and conducive to the effective and efficient conduct of the business outputs of the Army Personnel Centre and wider Defence community. In particular, providing infrastructure services that ensures customer satisfaction and confidence that their working environment is welcoming, safe, legal and secure. This is a customer facing/relationship management role which focuses on people, place and process to ensure whole force business outputs are attained and value for money is achieved.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
This is predominantly a customer facing/relationship management role which focuses on delivering a working environment that is welcoming, safe, legal and secure. The incumbent will be required on site and the position is not suitable for Smarter Ways of Working. The key areas of responsibility for this exciting role are:
Management of the Facilities Management team comprising of three business areas: Safety, Health, Environment and Fire (SHEF) & Security, Facilities Management and Repro/Mail Op; acting as line manager of the three Executive Officer and counter-signing officers for 16 administrative roles.
Delivering infrastructure support services provision to all occupants of the building. This includes acting as the real estate/accommodation manager, working collaboratively with Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and being the Estate Representative for the Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS) Hard FM contract as well as the Op Hestia Soft FM contract. The post also is the key point of contact for DIO, Regional Infrastructure Cell (RIC) and 51 Brigade project management and funding.
Finally, the post is responsible for the overall security of the building and Military Guard Service liaison ensuring the provision of a guarding service to site.
Person specification
This customer facing role requires someone who has effective and confident communication skills as they will be communicating daily with civilian staff, military personnel and external agencies. The individual should be well organised, methodical and be diligent to detail.
