Responsibilities:
As an Art and Design Teacher, your role will encompass:
- Lesson Planning: Creating captivating lessons in Art and art history that align with students' learning goals.
- Classroom Preparation: Organizing and setting up equipment to create an optimal learning environment.
- Skill Development: Nurturing students' drawing, coloring, and painting techniques, including instruction on various media such as graphite, charcoal, oil, acrylic, and watercolor.
- Art History: Introducing students to the fascinating world of art history.
- Assessment: Assigning and evaluating projects and examinations.
- Progress Tracking: Maintaining records and reporting on students' progress.
- Classroom Maintenance: Ensuring cleanliness after each lesson.
- Resource Management: Managing inventory and procuring art supplies as needed.
- Engagement: Participating in faculty and parent-teacher meetings.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Valid UK teaching qualification: PGCE with QTS (Qualified teacher status) or QTLS.
- NQTs, Overseas Trained Teachers with UK work rights, and experienced Instructors are encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor's degree in fine arts with teaching qualifications or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an art teacher.
- Proficiency in various art techniques.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to oversee group activities.
- Strong planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Supportive and adaptable nature.
- Possession of a Child-Only Enhanced DBS on the Update service or willingness to obtain one through GSL Education.
