Job description

The Award-Winning Historic Dockyard Chatham, the world's most complete dockyard of the age of sail and one of Britain's leading maritime heritage destinations, provides an exciting and memorable learning journey for people of all ages.

The post involves developing the Arts offer within the Learning team, including preparing and running Arts workshops linked to the national Arts Award programme. The post will be part time 24hr/wk.

If you have an Arts based background, relevant experience working with groups of children and families, and a passion for showcasing the arts, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Please note - this is a fixed-term contract position that ends on 31 March 2026.

  • Qualifications in the Arts
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • High standards of personal presentation
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to undertake training and duties compatible with the role
  • Satisfactory D B S check
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.

Desirable elements:

  • Degree Level Art Qualification
  • Experience of running Art workshops
  • Interest in museums / museum education
  • Ability to drive.
