Job Description
There are two posts available, 21.25 Hours and 10.5 hours, both of which are Fixed Term until 04/08/2024.
As these posts are part time, the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours worked.
Carers providing care in the community are supported, guided and assisted, out with office hours by Assistant Care at Home Organisers. The post holder will provide a responsive first point of contact for Carers working in the community in relation to care service delivery during out of hours.
We are looking to recruit staff to provide evenings and weekends support to our carers working in the community.
Currently our Out of Hours team cover the following shifts:-
Mon - Thu 16:45 to 22:00, Friday 16:00 to 22:00, Sat & Sun 7:30 to 14:30 and Sat & Sun 14:30 to 22:00. The work pattern is a 3 week rolling rota covering morning (weekend /Public Holidays ) and evening shifts, this would include working one weekend in three.
Examples of working rota are as follows:-
• 21.25 Hour post: Week 1 (4 nights) Mon - Thur 16:45 to 22:00, Week 2 (4 nights) Tues - Thur 16:45 to 22:00 and Friday 16:00 - 22:00, Week 3 (Weekend working) Fri 16:00 - 22:00 Sat and Sun (shift would be either 7:30 -14:30 or 14:30 - 22:00).
• 10.5 Hour post: 2 weekday shifts , 1 Friday shift , 1 Sat and 1 Sun shift (5 shifts worked over a three week rota).
Training for this position will be carried out within a council location. When confident the successful candidate(s) would be working Hybrid.
This position is a great stepping stone for a candidate who is currently working or studying in a Health and Social Care environment who is looking to gain further experience, or merely looking to increase the hours they currently work.
Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
