Assistant Accountant Role Overview
NC Associates are working on an Assistant Accountant vacancy for an internationally renowned business who are looking for someone to come in and manage the company accounts. As the Assistant Accountant you will be essential in delivering robust financial information into the Director and Accountant
Assistant Accountant Responsibilities:
- Daily income and expenditure reconciliation via online banking portal.
- Experience with money exchange platforms from GBP to USD to EUR.
- Processing/review of purchase invoices and compiling supplier payment runs, in line with agreed timescales and with appropriate approval where necessary.
- General maintenance of the purchase ledger, including reconciling supplier statements, regular review of aged creditor ledgers and communication with key stakeholders on any unresolved issues.
- Daily bank reconciliation, ensuring all reconciled items are investigated and resolved and regular communication with key stakeholders on any unresolved issues.
- Managing internal/external queries to resolutions through investigation, reconciliation and escalation.
- Tracking and maintaining expense reports, investigating any anomality’s and reconciling ensuring any expenses are in line with business expectations.
- Raising purchase orders through the financial system for non-consumables.
- Preparation and distribution of monthly stock figures using our CRM system and distributing to stakeholders, providing analysis and commentary if required.
- On boarding new customers ensuring credit checks are completed and new accounts set up correctly.
- Liaise with company external accountancy on VAT and high level financials.
- Managing R&D time logs ensuring that all time attributed to R&D is accurate.
- Supporting senior management with projects, working effectively with 3rd parties for an efficient project implementation.
- Collating information and participating with audits for HMRC or R&D.
- Ensuring all supplier invoices/delivery notes are archived in line with HMRC requirements.
- Taking ownership of annual/bi annual renewals, insurance and mobile contracts, communicating and attending meetings with 3rd parties, gathering quotes and presenting / communicating them to the Director.
- Supporting the business when required in other admin areas.
Assistant Accountant Experience Required
- Good competent knowledge of Sage Line 50
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of financial regulations
