Job Description
As the Assistant Accountant / Management Accountant you will be responsible for:
Supporting the Finance Director:
Working on Sage Intacct, responsible for day-to-day tasks to enable accurate reporting of all financial information of the company and its subsidiary companies
Ensuring all systems and processes are operating effectively
Key responsibilities:
- Processing AP invoices and expenses
- Processing payments to vendors and reimbursing staff expenses
- Processing AR Invoices and accurate allocation of receipts
- Maintaining and preparing bank reconciliations.
- Taking ownership of reconciliations of all control accounts
- Accountable for Finance mailbox, a key part of the finance workflow
- Preparing and posting journal entries
- Dealing with foreign currency for overseas travel
- Administering and reconciling Petty Cash
- Assisting preparation of Group VAT Returns
- Assisting in preparing Annual Statutory accounts in the form of an Excel pack and complex Word Document
- Liaising with Auditors, Tax teams and other business partners
- Support in preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Working closely with operational teams
- The ability to work with disparate information from 3rd Party systems
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified by Experience or AAT Part qualified, CIMA/ACCA Part Qualified
- Experience in a similar role
- Technically strong within a finance operation
- The ability to understand and interpret the ethos and style of the organisation in all communications and planning
- Demonstrable experience of meeting challenging targets
- A hands on attitude
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, terms and concepts and understanding of financial regulations is essential
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills
- An ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- You can be studying for an Accountancy Qualification but its not essential
What's on Offer
- £30,000 - £38,000
- 25 days holiday + 8 days bank holidays
- Pension 5% from employee and 5% from employer.
- 37.5 hours per week with Flexi Time Offered, Start times can be between the hours of 8 am and 10 am and finish times will be from 4.30pm - 6.30 pm according to arrival time.
