Assistant Accountant

My client is a leader in its field, a property services business with offices in London and 4 regional offices that are growing. It has a need for a confident and ambitious Assistant Accountant to join its finance team based in stunning offices very close to London Waterloo Station. This is an all-round transactional based post requiring a knowledge of both revenue and expense transactions and the double-entry surrounding these. Ideally this role will be suited to an AAT Qualified or equivalent accountant. Key responsibilities are:

• Posting of supplier invoices to the purchase ledger, setting up new suppliers, reconciliation of the purchase ledger and creation of the weekly payment run.
• Credit card reconciliation.
• Posting and allocation of bank receipts to the sales ledger, reconciliation of the sales ledger.
• Reconciliation of the bank account.
• Liaison with customers for credit control purposes, escaltion as required. Liaison with Surveyors on outstanding debtor issues and resolving accordingly.
• Raising and sending of Sales invoices and Credit notes, creation of new customers and billing clients.
• Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts, the quarterly VAT Return and assisting with the business planning process.
