Assistant Accountant

About The Role

This Assistant Accountant’s role requires some occasional sites visits. However, it is predominantly a hybrid working role.

Aimed at supporting the Finance Team, the successful applicant will be reporting to the Suffolk Senior Accountant.

Key Duties & Responsibilities will Include:

• Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of monthly Journals.
• Calculating Monthly Accruals and Prepayments.
• Depot Inventory processing and variance analysis.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monthly Payroll processing cover and support.
• Supporting the purchase to pay and three-way-match processes for the contract.
• Ensuring compliance of internal and UK FRS Accounting policies and processes.
• Identifying and driving improvements in processes and systems, identifying and mitigate risk.
• Supporting the interim and year-end audit process.
• Supporting the contract forecasting process.

Essential Skills:

• Part Qualified Accountant with at least a minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
• Initiative-taking, robust, and resourceful finance professional.
• Remain focused in a challenging environment.
• Ability to build relationships on a cross-functional basis within the sector and business.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Advance Excel skills.
• Driving License.
