Based in Pitstone, this position requires someone to be in the office full time to help shape and mentor their junior members of the team! Getting the right people manager is essential for this role. Whilst being able to manage your portfolio of clients you will also be able to be an empathetic and patient leader that can build excellent working relationships quickly.
This role would suit someone who perhaps is looking for a step up or is already managing a small team. You will be a QBE or Qualified or Finalist Senior Accountant with proven experience of managing a portfolio of Limited company and sole traders.
Offering a salary of c. 50-55,000, this could be a great next step in your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review Limited Company and Sole Trade accounts prepared under FRS102, FRS105, IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Tax Planning and Compliance: Advise clients on tax implications, prepare and review tax
returns (corporate, personal, and VAT), and ensure compliance with UK tax regulations.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accountants, reviewing their work and fostering their professional growth.
- Advisory Services: Offer financial and business advice to clients, helping them make
informed decisions, optimize their financial performance, and achieve their objectives.
- Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand client relationships, participate in business development efforts, and contribute to the growth of the practice.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in accounting and tax regulations,
ensuring clients' compliance with all relevant laws.
Qualifications:
- QBE or ACA or ACCA qualification or nearing completion.
- Proven experience working in an accounting practice, including exposure to client
management and financial reporting.
- Thorough understanding of UK accounting and tax regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Business development acumen is a plus.
- Strong project management skills and excellent organisational abilities.
- Technically proficient across various accountancy disciplines.
- Problem-solving mindset with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and independently.
- Strong communication and advisory skills.
- Confident in working alongside senior management.
- Motivated, inspiring, and able to encourage team collaboration.
- Creative with excellent business acumen.
