Job description

We are seeking to appoint a full-time Assistant ALN IDP Officer post.


Pembrokeshire Council are offering an exciting opportunity to work within the Inclusion Service supporting the local authority in the discharge of its duties in terms of the provision of individual development plans (IDPs) of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) under the guidance laid out in the ALN Code for Wales 2021.


The post holder will be working closely with advisory teachers, behaviour support, ASD specialist teachers, schools and colleges, and colleagues from social care and health to improve outcomes for children and young people across Pembrokeshire.


The Assistant IDP Officer will be preparing high quality local authority maintained IDP’s, including those for pre-school, Young People Looked After, Education Otherwise than at School (EOTAS), Post 16, children in the Youth Justice System, Elective Home Education (EHE), special schools, special class provision and dual registered learners.


We would welcome expressions of interest from candidates educated to degree standard or equivalent who are able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, with IT skills that include the use of word processing and spreadsheet. The candidate would require proven organisation skills with a successful track record of working to and meeting deadlines.


We are offering agile working arrangements with a base in County Hall, Haverfordwest.
