Assistant Artist Facilitator (Freelance)

The Assistant Artist Facilitator works with the Artist Facilitator to support the creative development of the artists and the smooth working of the studio.

The Brent studio is the newest of ActionSpace's studios. ActionSpace has worked in Brent for over 5 years and runs two weekly supported studio sessions for local learning disabled artists. The studio nurtures young talent, working with artists aged 18-35. Artists develop their own artistic practice with support from the Artist Facilitator and Assistant.

Successes have included exhibiting in both recent Brent Biennials, artwork selected to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and artist Jorell Bonnick winning an open commission for a temporary public artwork in London. The studio is also a centre for other learning disabled young people to make art, with ActionSpace artists co-leading workshops teaching skills and providing mentoring to peers. A series of Big Lottery funded community projects will take place in the coming year at the studio.

Session Rate: £80 per studio session (4 hours)
Hours: Monday 9.15am - 1.15pm and Thursdays 11.30am - 3.30pm
Term: this is a freelance contract, initially to run from May 2024 - July 2024 with possibility to extend after this period
Reports to: reporting to and accountable to the Artist Facilitator
