The Building Consultancy Group provides Building Surveying, Lease Exit, Project Management and project Monitoring Services to commercial property occupiers, developers and investors throughout the UK from our offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.
The Group enjoys strong and productive relationships with a first rate client base and with many other parts of the business, including our Agency, Investment, Valuation and Asset Management teams and has been identified as an area for strategic growth. We have particularly strong relationships with the London Estates and in the education and hotels sectors.
The London Building Surveying team comprises 4 partners, 2 senior associates, 2 associates, 1 senior surveyor and 4 surveyors and assistant surveyors.
About the Role
We are a well-established, professional and highly regarded Partnership within the industry with an excellent reputation for training and development. We are looking for a student studying a Building Surveying related degree (RICS accredited) to join the London office on a year’s placement.
Working as an Assistant Building Surveyor in our London office, you will work within one of our business groups, getting real experience from day one. You will receive support towards gaining APC competencies and you will be able to attend training days to further develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours so that you can work towards your APC throughout your Placement Year.
Our aim is to nurture creative and dynamic property consultants. Being stuck in an office doing mundane tasks won’t do that; you’ll be getting out on inspections and meeting clients throughout the UK.
About you
You will currently be doing a relevant undergraduate degree that has a ‘year out in industry’ option.
Application process
To begin your journey with Gerald Eve, we ask that you submit your CV and respond to our tailored questions. We encourage you to invest time and effort in providing comprehensive answers within the prescribed word count.
Successful candidates from the initial application will progress to the second stage, this involves a 20-minute Teams Video call with a member of our team. During this interview, you will have the opportunity to engage in a discussion about a number of potential topics.
If you advance to the final stage, you will be invited to our assessment day, this will be taking place, in person, in the London office. The assessment day will comprise a variety of group and individual exercises, offering you the opportunity to showcase your skills and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, you will have the chance to interact with our current graduates and professionals from across the firm. This informal setting will help you gain a genuine understanding of our work culture and what it's like to be part of the Gerald Eve team.
