Position:
Assistant Category Manager - Trading
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Category Manager to develop and execute trading strategies that maximize sales and profitability. As the Assistant Category Manager, you will play a pivotal role in implementing these strategies.
- Dive deep into market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to identify opportunities for strategic trading decisions. Collaborate closely with the Category Manager to align trading initiatives with broader category goals.
- Analyze trading performance metrics and key performance indicators to optimize category performance, providing regular updates and insights to the Category Manager.
- Collaborate closely with vendors to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and promotional opportunities, under the guidance and mentorship of the Category Manager.
- Play a key role in planning and executing trading events, promotions, and seasonal campaigns, working closely with the Category Manager to ensure alignment with overarching category objectives.
- Monitor stock levels and work collaboratively with the supply chain team to ensure optimal inventory management, providing regular reports and updates to the Category Manager.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in trading or category management within a retail environment.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in trading data analysis tools.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven trading environment. Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset focused on achieving trading objectives.
