We are seeking an experienced chef to join our brand new 12 bed CAMHS service supporting young people between the ages of 12 – 18 years old at Emerald Place Clinic in Charlwood, Surrey due to open early 2024!

The role will work within a team producing a high standard of food production for the patient, staff and visitors of the Unit, which meets with all current Hygiene and Health & Safety legislation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Food preparation, cooking and serving of meals to patients, staff and visitors of the clinic as laid down in agreed menus using recognised recipes and methods. Always aiming to achieve the highest possible standard.
- Food ordering, maintaining required food stock levels and keeping stockholding area hygienic, clear of any obstruction, presentable and tidy at all times.
- Ensuring food safety and departmental HACCP policy are adhered to at all times.
- Keep up to date with departmental COSHH manual and PPE requirement for each food preparation and cleaning task.
- Freshly prepare, cook, and serve all dishes adhering strictly to recipes agreed by the head chef, clinical teams and dieticians
- Serve food in accordance to the need of each individual young person ensuring any changes are agreed/ requested before service.
To be a Successful Chef you will need:
- NVQ level 2 or equivalent in catering.
- Basic qualification in food hygiene.
- Previous experience in hospital environment is desirable
- Experienced in Culinary service, hospitality, restaurant, or large retail setting.
- Basic IT skills
Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Elysium Healthcare are working in partnership to provide a new mental health inpatient service for young people in Surrey in a new purpose-built unit. Emerald Place Clinic is available solely for NHS funded care and treatment and the partnership brings together complementary expertise and best practice to jointly manage the inpatient unit and deliver a high-quality service for young people.
Emerald Place Clinic is a general adolescent inpatient unit for the care and treatment of young people aged 13 up to the age of 18. Young people who are admitted to the unit will have a primary diagnosis of mental illness across a wide range of disorders and complex needs. These could include mental health conditions such as mood disorders and acute psychosis. Additionally young people may have co-existing additional needs such as neurodevelopmental disorders, including mild learning disabilities or autism. A young person could also be admitted if they have disordered eating.
