We're looking for a people-focused Assistant Customer Service Manager (ASM) to lead and inspire our branch counter team in Cheylesmore, Coventry branch. This is about improving lives – not sales and targets – in our branch and community. This is a 12 month opportunity.
Working in a large branch location with a Customer Service Manager our ASMs are empowered to make decisions, to enhance their team’s performance, but also make a positive impact locally. They must form a deep understanding of the role their branch plays in the community and seek out opportunities to make a difference.
By nurturing their teams, successful CSMs deliver a service that members value. They care how others think and feel about coming to work. Their teams feel they belong, can be themselves and get the support they need to flourish.
To be successful, you’ll have experience of leading and / or coaching a financial services branch team or you may already be a leader in customer obsessed retail role, looking for a new challenge. We’ll be looking for examples of how you’ve inspired those around you and improved the customer experience.
You’ll be passionate about people, driven by creating an inclusive, positive working environment and showing us how you’ve done this in the past. This should include experience of coaching and developing, not only team members but other managers as well.
You’ll also be able to evidence where your ability as a communicator has persuaded and influenced either your peers or senior management, to make positive changes with successful outcomes.
Demonstrating resilience, taking ownership and experience of dealing with more complex or challenging situations will also be important.
As a mutual, we’ve always worked together to improve the lives of others. Now one of the largest Building Societies in the UK, over 3,000 of us share that goal, in our branches and Head Office. Our benefits go beyond basic pay, with a discretionary bonus scheme, a culture of reward and recognition and total support for our wellbeing.
We’re serious about equality, of race, age, faith, disability and sexual orientation, but also of personality and the way we think. By being yourself, you’ll make us stronger.
You can build so much more than a career. Come and make a difference in our Society, that’s been voted a ‘Great Place to Work’ by our teams.
