The NE,Y&H believes in delivering a first-class customer service to partners and stakeholders and resolving complex challenges through an innovative and creative approach.

This is a rare chance to be part of Homes England - a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and within a multi-disciplinary directorate you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective resolution of issues on a number of varied projects whilst always being mindful of placemaking.

The role will support the design and delivery objectives of key strategic projects in the NE,Y&H region. There are some ambitious projects within the current and future pipeline which will provide the appointed Assistant Manager with an excellent opportunity to problem solve and think creatively whilst gaining invaluable experience to aid professional development.

Person specification

Whilst our day job is to deliver homes along with a first class customer service to our stakeholders in the NE,Y&H, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You will have private or public sector development experience and be a member of the RICS or working towards RICS certification. You’ll have experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams and have a result focused approach, and effectively demonstrate the values we have at Homes England.

You will possess knowledge of the housing sector, government policy & industry best practice and be able to demonstrate commercial and financial acumen to enable you to contribute effectively in project management & delivery.

You'll be comfortable supporting the team with complex technical and commercial issues, aiming to ensure delivery in accordance with the Annual Business Plan and any scheme-specific Business Cases. You will be proficient in commercial negotiations, land disposals, and placemaking.

You will enjoy collaborating as part of a team but also work well independently with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable working with stakeholders, and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a high performing team. In addition, you will also be able to develop robust relationships with and influence external stakeholders in local government and the development sector to ensure Homes England is able to effectively deliver sites to market. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun, and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
