Description
The vacancies are available in the South West, Midlands and North west areas of England and are not residential.
You MUST have a suitable employer.

This occupation is found in the agriculture and horticulture sectors, specifically the area of agriculture that includes sheep, dairy, cattle, beef cattle, pigs, goats, poultry, arable field based vegetables or energy crops. In horticulture it is recommended for those working in extensive horticultural field crops. Assistant Farm Managers tend to work in sectors such as dairy, beef and sheep, arable, pigs and poultry or can work at a business which may cut across multiple sectors. An Assistant Farm Manager may work in any size farm business as employed labour whose intention will be to progress (through succession planning) to farm management either employed or running their own business, in the future. Titles in this job sector vary and it would be appropriate to a range of farm or horticultural site management positions

  • Understanding the compliance of supply chain contracts / market requirements, farm assurance schemes, relevant codes of practice and relevant farm enterprise legislation.
  • Reviewing the routine maintenance of farm machinery, buildings, field drainage and field boundaries.
Entry requirements
GCSE grades of 4 or above in Maths and English
At least two years of agricultural experience.
Applicants must have a suitable employer.
Training to be provided
1-2-1 teaching and mentoring
A training specialist will provide 1-2-1 mentoring and coaching at the workplace, through online reviews and planned visits to the workplace.
A training specialist will coach, teach, and support the apprentice at the workplace on a one-to-one basis, visiting at regular and agreed intervals.
Face to face teaching as a group (Online delivery)
The programme will be delivered online monthly, led by an experienced team with input from industry experts. There will also be optional monthly drop-in sessions for support.
Block delivery throughout the year with other apprentices in the area. The teaching location will be at a central point to those on the apprenticeship in the area.
Tutorials
Apprentices will be offered regular 1-2-1 tutorial time remotely with their specialist trainer.

We provide an e -learning platform with work and activities for apprentices to complete.

Experiential Learning
All apprentices could attend a residential (overnight stay) at Skern Lodge in Bideford, North Devon, or at one of our 10 adventure centres across the UK.
This experience provides added value to your apprentice’s learning and is an opportunity for
them to build confidence while undertaking exciting and learning-focused activities.
Residential activities are designed to address the learning needs of you apprentice, as a result
real personal growth can be achieved.
