Assistant Finance Controller

Your new company
Hays are working exclusively with a superb and interesting business in Telford, who are looking for an Assistant Financial Controller for an 18 month contract with a possibility of longer term
Your new role
You will work closely with the Financial Controller and duties will include

• Daily posting of cash book.
• To collate month end data and ensure closure of Sales and Purchase Ledgers
• To produce & post month end journals.
• To produce / assist in the production of monthly management accounts, along with supporting notes in accordance with relevant timescales
• Attend management accounts review meetings
• The completion and review cost sheets
• To control account / balance sheet reconciliations, making corrections where appropriate
• To produce ad-hoc reporting as and when required by the Financial Controller
• Produce, review & distribute budgeted costs in preparation for budgets / forecasts
• Prepare & send quarterly VAT return
• To provide whatever support is necessary to the finance team

What you\'ll need to succeed
You should have experience of producing or assisting in the production of management accounts, strong Excel (pivot tables tec), AAT would be desirable but not essential. You should have strong communication skills to enable you to liaise effectively throughout the business. you should be self motivated, inquisitive and well organised
What you\'ll get in return

The business is easily accessible in Telford on public transport and has on site parking. This opportunity is for 18 months in which time you will be able to really develop your accounting skills and knowledge but will a possibility of it going on longer than that
