SalaryAlexander Daniels are currently recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant on behalf of a specialist manufacturing business based in Derby on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting into a supportive Finance Director and working as part of a collaborative and friendly team, you will provide support and gain exposure to the following tasks:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive 13-week rolling cash-flow forecast
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Oversee tax-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and collaborate with external tax advisors when necessary
- Assist in the coordination of external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of assets
- Post accruals, prepayments, and payroll journals accurately and in a timely manner
- Bank reconciliations
- VAT returns
- Post incoming cash to the accounts receivable ledger
- Facilitate timely and accurate payments to suppliers
- Undertake any other projects and ad-hoc tasks as required by the Finance Director
The ideal candidate will hold either an AAT qualification or a degree in Accounting & Finance (or related field) with a view to studying towards a professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or equivalent. You must have proven experience in a fast-paced finance department, preferably within the manufacturing industry, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a "roll your sleeves up" mentality.
