Gleeson Recruitment Group are working in partnership with one of the largest manufacturing businesses around, who are looking to add a new Financial Controller to the team. There is genuine progression with this position, with more senior duties being drip fed down in the first 12 months and the opportunity to step into more senior positions in the future. You will control financial accounts and provide key financial data to management, enabling key decisions to be made by SLT. You will have ownership of budgeting, forecasting, month end accounts, audit activities and new product introductions. You will also be responsible for updating, creating and reviewing management accounts models and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
Key responsibilities for the Assistant Financial Controller position:
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reporting, reviewing variances for business unit management and P&L
- Business partnering with key stakeholders within the business unit
- Managing year end accounting and control processes, to meet statutory requirements
- Overseeing the preparation of monthly accounts, budgets and forecasts in an accurate and timely manner
- Judging, interpreting and presenting financial analysis, providing insights and recommendations to key stakeholders
- Preparing and submitting monthly cash flow forecasts
- Managing and liaising with external auditors
Key requirements for the Assistant Financial Controller position:
- You must be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
- Experience of working with SAP is preferred
- A good understanding of accounting principles and management accounts processes
- Good understanding of Excel
