The College of Nursing and Midwifery currently has an exciting opportunity for a Children’s nurse to join our team as an Assistant Lecturer. We aspire to lead Nursing and Midwifery education, to be the first choice for students and apprentices, colleagues, and employers within Birmingham, across the West Midlands, nationally and globally. As an Assistant Lecturer and as part of the team you will:
- Have the opportunity to support the delivery of a range of modules.
- Work flexibly, contributing to innovative teaching, learning and assessment to support a high quality student experience.
- Be supported to develop research, enterprise and scholarly activities which are integral to the role.
- Assess learners’ attainment of relevant knowledge and skills across a range of informal and formal methods.
- Provide pastoral support, enabling students to thrive and become independent professionals who are proud to be part of Birmingham City University.
Essential criteria for interested applicants include the following:
- Hold a current NMC Nursing registration in Children’s nursing.
- Educated to Degree level in a clinically relevant subject area.
Desirable for the role includes previous teaching experience alongside experience in supporting pre-registration nurses in practice. Successful applicants will be fully funded and supported through our teacher training apprenticeship, including full support for study attendance, and the allocation of a dedicated mentor to support them through the learning requirements.
