As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and producing the accounts for Commercial and our subsidiary Companies. Your responsibilities will include analysing financial data, preparing financial reports, and supporting decision-making processes. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure that accounting standards are followed and to identify areas of potential current or future risk in relation to accounting standards, tax and VAT.
Your responsibilities as an Assistant Management Accountant will include:
- Assist with the production of our Management Accounts for the whole company
- Assist with year-end audit schedules and liaison with our external auditors
- Develop individual profit and loss accounts across the business
- Liaise with business managers, providing accurate and informative financial information.
- Help with the management of month end closedowns
- Supplier and customer rebate tracking
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure stock is managed in line with statutory requirements and stocktakes are completed
- Ensure that finance processes are robust, fit for purpose and meet statutory requirements
- Liaise with other Departments to ensure that they all have 'finance friendly’ procedures which contribute to the integrity of all Company information
- Assist with the introduction of new ERP systems for the business and offer support for these systems
About you
- Relevant part-qualified accountant qualifications (ideally AAT, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) and looking to progress to achieve the full qualification
- Good understanding of the accounts function
- Advanced computer literacy skills, particularly within Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- The ability to demonstrate a track record of innovation and improvement
- Problem solver
- The ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with colleagues
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- Previous experience of Systems implementation would be desirable
