Now Careers are dealing exclusively with an exciting opportunity in the Bridgend area for an Assistant Management Accountant. In this role, you will be required to support the Financial Controller and Senior Management Accountant with the production of the monthly management accounts for the group of companies. Working as part of a busy and friendly finance team, you will undertake a variety of duties, with the intention of over time progressing and becoming a fully-fledged Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone that is hungry and eager to progress within the profession.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts
• Investigate all variances from budget and ensure prompt resolution
• Produce budgets and forecasts to set timescales
• Provide a first-class service to all budget holders and meet with Heads of Department in order to discuss performance
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register
• Assisting the Head of Finance with YE statutory accounts prep
• Reviewing KPI’s
• Liaise with external and internal auditors at year end
• Assist with the production of costing models

The Financial Controller will be on hand to support and train you, but in return they are looking for a candidate who is dedicated to getting to the job done and is not afraid to ask questions and challenge.

It is vital you possess Intermediate/advanced Excel skills and have had exposure of working on accounting software. This is an ever-changing environment; therefore, the successful applicant will be able to adapt and enjoy working in such a dynamic environment. Ideally, you will be working towards your professional ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification and have previous experience within a similar role. However, my client is happy to accept applications from candidates that are not looking to study, but happy to work as a Management Accountant and learn on the job.

The position will be office based initially, hours 37.5 per week but when you are up and running, my client can offer hybrid work.
