The Company

An Assistant Management Accountant is sought by a leading green energy business who are undergoing a finance transformation process. This energy services and production business continues to expand with acquisitions, new sites and new services across a diverse portfolio. The group seeks an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant supporting a number of operations managers in understanding their finances.

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Management Accountant

• Assist in the production of monthly and weekly management reporting, working closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner and CFO
• Present key financial information to regional Directors and Operations Managers to ensure they have a full understanding of their financial position; variance to budget and Y-o-Y performance
• Assist in the production of key financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Forecasts
• Support the development of financial controls across the team including balance sheet reviews, debtors / cash collection, unbilled analysis, Timesheet management & Analysis and Overtime reporting to ensure that all financial accounting guidelines are being followed
• Work with the Shared Service Centre to deliver high quality, timely financial information
• Drive value for money on purchases, including querying invoices with staffing agencies
• Track/Match invoices received align to work performed and reconcile supplier accounts

Skills & Attributes of the Assistant Management Accountant

• An ambitious part-qualified accountant (actively studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
• Previous experience managing non-finance stakeholders would be highly advantageous
• Prior experience of basic financial accounting and reporting processes such as posting journals is a pre-requisite
• Experience in a similar role within a multi-site business is desirable
• As this is a fixed-term contract, the individual will need to be available at short-notice but due to growth within the business, its is hoped that a permanent role would be available upon completion
