ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

ARE YOU THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

An opportunity has arisen for a talented Assistant Management Accountant in Milton Keynes, you will be working closely with the rest of the management accounting team, our internal customers (both UK and internationally) on Microsoft Teams, via email and face-to-face to support the UK Directors and Senior Management Team.


We are looking for a candidate with management accounting experience who can complete all month-end tasks including producing the P&L & Balance Sheets. You will be looking to expand and develop upon your business partnering and analysis skills.


  • Production of accurate monthly management accounts for two subsidiaries, one in the UK and one in Europe, with support from the wider management accounting team.
  • Assisting other members of the management accounting team with processes related to other, larger subsidiaries.
  • Development of business partnering, reporting, and analysis to highlight issues and opportunities and support business growth.
  • Calculate and post all month-end journals including accruals/prepayments etc, and carry out all Balance Sheet reconciliations with support from line manager/wider accounts team.
  • Carry out analysis on margins and opex, to support commercial management and highlight potential areas of improvement.
  • Support with the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, using your own knowledge of the business, plus discussions with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Continual optimisation of reporting ensuring timely accurate information is provided to Management to facilitate well-informed managerial judgements.
  • Group reporting via SAP EPM in accordance with reporting timetables.
  • Create and maintain relationships; you need to enjoy dealing with people and be confident that you can make a good impression
  • Take charge of your personal development and contribute to the evaluation of performance in line with Routeco’s core competencies and learning and development framework
  • Observe Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Ad hoc projects
  • Fulfil additional requests from Senior Finance Team


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO ROUTECO?

  • Experience of management accounts; producing P&L and B/S is a requirement of the role
  • Excellent team player – able to support the team during busy times
  • Good communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

  • Strong Excel skills including Ifs, Pivots, Lookups, Index/match.
