Assistant Management Accountant

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department in various accounting functions. You will work closely with the Management Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis, assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organisation.

What can you bring to Banham?

Your previous experience within a similar role will enable you to:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts 
• Conduct monthly cost reviews, analysing and reviewing overhead costs against budget 
• Prepare and post monthly prepayment, accrual journals, and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review bank reconciliations and EPOS transactions 
• Maintain fixed asset register 
• Prepare intercompany invoices and journals 
• Prepare VAT returns 
• Assist with the annual audit 
• Liaise with department heads to assist in cost management and tracking of actual spend against budget 
• Manage the company credit card and petty cash functions 
• Assist the FP&A team with budgeting and forecasting. 
• Support the Management/Financial Accountant and Finance Managerwith ad hoc queries, analysis, and projects.

What Are We Looking for?

• You will be currently studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) 
• Have previous experience in an accounting or finance-based role 
• Intermediate Excel skills with strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and analytical skills 
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders both written and verbal 
• Willingness to learn 
• Experience of Sage X3 (beneficial).
